Colorado Concealed Handgun Training
Carrying a concealed firearm is not simply about obtaining a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit — it is about accepting responsibility. This course satisfies Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit training requirements while emphasizing the critical skills necessary to safely and effectively carry a concealed firearm in public.
The Colorado Concealed Handgun Training course is an 8-hour training program designed to prepare responsible citizens to carry with confidence, competence, and sound judgment. Training is delivered in a professional, engaging environment with a focus on building confidence through application — not passive lecture.
At In The Hunt Training LLC, we believe training is an investment. This course moves beyond basic compliance and focuses on developing responsible, capable permit holders who understand not only how to shoot — but when, why, and whether they should.
Course Overview & Requirements
This 8-hour course includes both classroom and hands-on range instruction.
Students will learn:
• Knowledge and safe handling/storage of firearms and ammunition (hands on)
• Federal and State Laws regarding the lawful purchase, ownership, transportation, use, and possession of firearms, Extreme Risk Protective Orders, and reporting lost or stolen firearms
• Defensive shooting fundamentals and hands on application (drawing safely from concealment, critical skills, after action protocols)
• Decision-making and use-of-force understanding
• Colorado State Law on use of deadly force
• Conflict avoidance, managing violent encounters, and de-escalation techniques
• Best practices for interacting with law enforcement
• Practical applications through dry fire repetitions, and live fire training
• Score 80% or higher on the written examination (open book)
• Score 70% or higher on the live-fire qualification
Both evaluations are designed to ensure students demonstrate both knowledge and safe practical application.
Course Pre-Requisites

This course is not a beginner course. Students should already have a basic knowledge of their firearm, safety, and shooting fundamentals

Must be a legal resident of Colorado (exception: Armed Forces with permanent duty station)

Must be 21 years or older

Must have a valid Colorado Identification or Driver's License

Is not ineligible to possess a firearm pursuant to section C.R.S. 18-12-108 or Federal Law

Not required but recommended (Intro to Handgun Course or Handgun Critical Skills Course)

Concealed Handgun Training
Investment: $350 + Range Fee
Range fees vary by location and will be confirmed prior to your session.
Limited Enrollment – 3 Students Maximum
Courses are intentionally capped at 3 students to ensure focused, high-level instruction and direct coaching throughout the session.
Registration closes 72 hours prior to the course date to allow for proper preparation and student coordination.
Minimum Enrollment Requirement
A minimum of 3 students is required to run the course. If the minimum is not met, the session will be rescheduled or offered as a private training option.
