Colorado Concealed Handgun Refresher Training
Carrying a concealed firearm is a perishable responsibility. Skill fades. Complacency creeps in. This course satisfies Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit Refresher training requirements while emphasizing the critical skills necessary to safely and effectively carry a concealed firearm in public.
This course is built for permit holders who understand that qualification is not mastery. This focused training session reinforces safe gun handling and storage, refresher on current Federal and State gun laws, efficient presentation from concealment, and accountable marksmanship — the core competencies required to carry responsibly. At In The Hunt Training LLC, we do not train for minimums. We train to stay capable.
Course Overview & Requirements
This 3 hour course includes both legal and hands-on range instruction satisfying the training requirements for Colorado State Concealed Handgun Permit renewal. Extra time is built in to ensure students get valuable hands on training.
Students will review:
• Knowledge and safe handling/storage of firearms and ammunition (hands on)
• Federal and State Laws regarding the lawful purchase, ownership, transportation, use, and possession of firearms, Extreme Risk Protective Orders, and reporting lost or stolen firearms
• Defensive shooting fundamentals and hands on application (drawing safely from concealment, critical skills, after action protocols)
• Decision-making and use-of-force understanding
• Colorado State Law on use of deadly force
• Conflict avoidance, managing violent encounters, and de-escalation techniques
• Best practices for interacting with law enforcement
• Practical applications through dry fire repetitions, and live fire training
• Score 80% or higher on the written examination (open book)
• Score 70% or higher on the live-fire qualification
Both evaluations are designed to ensure students demonstrate both knowledge and safe practical application
Course Pre-Requisites

This course is not a beginner course. Students should already have a basic knowledge of their firearm, safety, and shooting fundamentals as they have already been through a full permit course.

Must have a valid Colorado Identification or Driver's License

Colorado Concealed Carry Permit

Must be a legal resident of Colorado (exception: Armed Forces with permanent duty station)

Must be 21 years or older

Is not ineligible to possess a firearm pursuant to section C.R.S. 18-12-108 or Federal Law

Intro to Handgun Course or Handgun Critical Skills Course (not required but highly recommended)

Concealed Handgun Refresher Training
Investment: $225 + Range Fee
Range fees vary by location and will be confirmed prior to your session.
Limited Enrollment – 3 Students Maximum
Courses are intentionally capped at 3 students to ensure focused, high-level instruction and direct coaching throughout the session.
Registration closes 72 hours prior to the course date to allow for proper preparation and student coordination.
Minimum Enrollment Requirement
A minimum of 3 students is required to run the course. If the minimum is not met, the session will be rescheduled or offered as a private training option.
